The Montgomery Woman’s Club and Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati hosted a drive-thru collection on Saturday in Blue Ash to help survivors of domestic violence.Organizers collected donations of new bedding, kitchen supplies and other household items to benefit the Assistance League’s “New Beginnings” program, which helps survivors transition from shelters to new homes. The program has assisted around 1,500 women and children to establish a safe and peaceful environment away from abusers.October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. According to statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, approximately 10 million Americans are physically abused by an intimate partner every year.Contributions can still be made on the Assistance League website.
